Follow these steps to update the firmware on your interface module to the most current firmware available. This will ensure optimal performance and latest features for your interface while enabling it to work in the latest vehicle applications. This process is intended to be performed by an authorized Peripheral Electronics dealer. |

| Step 2 | Choose a location on your hard drive to save the file |

| Step 3 | A. Right-click on the file and choose "Extract All" from the menu B. Click "Next" C. Click "Next" again D. Click "Finish" Note: If you have installed WinZip, WinRAR, PKZip or another file decompression program, your screen will look different than the series at right. |

| Step 4 | Prepare the Gateway for programming by flipping all dipswitches down (ON) Note: This is REQUIRED for programming |

| Step 5 | Determine the version of your interface Figure A. If the serial number on the side of your interface module is PX0208.1X, proceed to Step 6. -OR- Figure B. If the serial number on the side of your interface module is PX0208.2X or higher. Please skip step 6, and proceed to step 7. |

| Step 6 | Early Gateway modules (serial number lower than PX0208.20) did not fully support plug-n-program USB updating. Therefore it is necessary to supply 12 volt power to the interface as well as connecting the USB cable to a computer for programming. Connect any Media Gateway Vehicle Specific Harness (PGHXXX) into the Gateway module and apply power and ground to the corresponding pins (see photo at right). This can be done on the bench, and connected to a power supply, or simply in a vehicle connected to the vehicle’s wiring harness behind the radio. |

| Step 7 | Connect a 5-Pin Mini USB cable into the USB port on the side of the interface |

| Step 8 | Connect the standard (large) end of the USB cable into a Laptop or PC running Windows XP | ![]() |

| Step 10 | Browse to the file folder where you unzipped and saved the USB driver pack in Step 2 | ||||||||
| Step 11 | Windows XP may
display a warning message that this software has not passed the windows Logo

| Step 13 | Run USBPROG.EXE (downloaded in Step 1) | ![]() |

| Step 14 | Load the firmware file to program onto the interface module Click the box with 3 dots “…” to select the firmware file you downloaded in Step 3 |

| Step 16 | Click the “PROGRAM” button DO NOT disconnect the Gateway Interface from the computer during this update process |
Note: Programming usually takes 20-30 seconds depending on the speed of your computer Important: Do not disconnect the interface from the computer during this update process

| Step 17 | A message will appear indicating that the programming is successful Click “OK” |

| Step 18 | USB Update is complete Carefully disconnect the interface module from the USB cable |
